Adam Schefter just said that he heard the Cowboys were talking to the Dolphins a month ago about a trade with both #1 picks, MB3 and another pick for the rights to draft Darren McFadden. Of course, this was directly contradicted by Jerry Jones earlier this week who said that he is not trading MB3 and downplayed the idea of trading up for McFadden. Also, how would they trade MB3 if they don't have him under contract yet.
It's the silly season. But if Schefter said it, I have to listen because that guy usually has good info. Although I find it hard to believe that Parcells wouldn't have pounced on that deal. It's also curious that Schefter is bringing this up now instead of a month ago. Maybe he did but I missed it.
Update [2008-2-24 16:33:51 by Dave Halprin (Grizz)]: BTB-regular coolaid points me to an article where Jerry Jones explicitly denied it yesterday.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, speaking exclusively to The Palm Beach Post, shot down the theory that has been a popular topic on message boards and sports call-in shows.
"We haven't talked about that at all," Jones said Saturday afternoon at the NFL Scouting Combine.
