The great Turtles song comes to mind when watching T.O. and Tony Romo yuk it up in front of Rich Eisen at the Pro Bowl. You can speculate about Jessica Simpson or Britney Spears, but this is a relationship that has been through the ups, downs, sacks, dropped passes and blown coverages. By golly, I think these two crazy kids are going to make it!
Seems like the Giants got tired of being Deebo’d by the ‘Boys. This happened shortly after the Philly loss at home.
Now that Spagnuolo has decided to stay with the Giants, will Dom Capers be added to our staff? Mixed feelings about this one. I think he’s a great coach but I don’t want the Cowboys staff to have a Washington feel to it, where we have a lot of high-profile coaches and former head coaches. Didn’t work out so well for the Redskins this year. Also how will this move be viewed? Is Jerry preparing a ready-made staff for the day Jason Garrett takes over? Or just trying to assemble the best team of assistant coaches possible? I'm hoping for the latter, but preparing for the former.
I’d like to keep Flo, if possible, but franchising him might just aggravate him. The idea is broached here. I’m of the mind that if you can’t replace him with another viable option, you might as well pay him and keep him, although the false starts are quickly becoming an intolerable irritant with me. There’s no denying though. When Flo is good, he’s really, really good.
While I question Jerry the football man, I tend to not question Jerry the business man (and Jerry the football man is getting better with age). Ticket prices for the new stadium, although considered expensive by some, are selling like hotcakes.
Finally, the moment you've all been waiting for: The TV Announcer Awards! That's right. Skip the Pro Bowl. This is where the true winners shine, according to Dr. Z. We've got quite a few Cowboys who are announcers now: Deion, Moose and Troy. Apparently, Dr. Z, is not a fan. And he didn't even mention Emmitt.
Hat tip to Captain Grid Iron for the Spagnuolo news. His diary is here.
