What’s the newest Dallas Cowboys been up to recently? He’s been having surgery and playing softball. Don’t panic, he had surgery on his nose for sinus problems. Then he decided to honor a commitment he made to a softball league in South Florida.
The newest Dallas Cowboys linebacker and the Dolphins all-time leading tackler honored his commitment to appear at the Collier County Senior Softball League All-Star games on Sunday, despite being two days removed from an operation for a deviated septum.
Even though he’s a Cowboy now, all those years playing for the Fish...err, Mammals, didn’t vanish overnight. He posed for pictures and signed autographs on a lot of Dolphins paraphernalia including #54 jerseys.
"Definitely a little strange," said the 34-year-old, who finalized his one-year, $3.3 million deal on Feb. 28. "I have to put '55' and 'Cowboys' where I've been writing '54' my whole career. It's finally sunk in, that I'll be going to play for another team next year."
Zach also mentions that he’s excited to play for a team that has a serious chance at winning and the past few years in Miami have not been as fun because the team...well, how can I put it delicately?...stunk!
