The Dallas Cowboys returned to work for a three-day mini-camp on Monday.
Notes from the morning practice session at DC.com.
We made a couple of minor personnel moves.
To add some receiving depth, the team signed Willie Reid, a former third-round pick of the Steelers in 2006 who spent time on the Eagles’ practice squad last year. Punter Matt Fodge also was signed as a tryout and presumably to take some pressure off incumbent Mat McBriar’s leg.
Also noted was some good news, Rich Behm attended the morning session.
Felix Jones will be held out of the afternoon session with a leg contusion. Miles Austin and Sam Hurd are not practicing because of injuries. Igor Olshansky and Kyle Kosier are also sitting out the sessions.
The DMN blog says Nick Folk did some running and Mat McBriar was booming the ball.
Kicker Nick Folk took a significant step in his rehab from hip surgery by doing some light running around the track during this morning's practice. Punter Mat McBriar, who missed most of last season after breaking his foot in the OT loss to Arizona, has returned to Pro Bowl form. McBriar was booming the ball at the beginning of the morning practice.

DeMarcus Ware says that Wade Phillips is taking command of the defense.
At least that's what the team's top defender suggested when asked about Phillips "officially" taking over as defensive coordinator this season.
"We've got the main guy calling the plays now ... He's the dictator, telling everybody exactly what to do and how to do it," linebacker DeMarcus Ware said.
