NFC East Champs
Dallas 24 - Philadelphia 0
How good did that one feel? Total domination with the NFC East title up for grabs, and the Eagles were playing for the #2 seed and a bye. Now, they have to turn around and come back to Cowboys Stadium for a re-match, this time for real.
The San Diego Chargers are the hottest team in football, but in the NFC you don't have to look any further than the Dallas Cowboys. Give it up for a defense that has pitched back-to-back shutouts over NFC East rivals. And an offense that has discovered the balance between the passing attack and the running game, and the importance of holding on to the football. And a special teams (besides the missed FG) that had Philly bottled up all game. All three units were executing the gameplan just like it's drawn up in the playbook, where the plays always work.
The Cowboys are playing football at the highest level, at the right time - this is getting good. The playoffs loom, and that's been Dallas' Waterloo for over a decade now. But, last year at this time, the Cowboys were commiserating over a 44-6 butt-kicking and getting bounced out of the playoffs by the Eagles. This year, the Cowboys dished out the punishment in the final regular-season game.
It's all for naught without a win next week, but it sure feels good this week.
Celebrate in this thread.
