As the NFL enters Week 13, there are 19 teams either in or within one game of first place in their divisions, the most at this point of a season in league history. And, for the first time through 12 weeks, all eight divisions have at least two teams either in or within one game of first place. In the NFC alone, 11 teams are within one game of first place in their divisions and/or within one game of .500 entering the final five weeks of the season.
Depending on how you read that situation, that spells either a lot of parity or a lot of mediocrity. It also makes picking winners in this season an equation with a lot of unknown variables.
But that didn't stop Aaron from walking away with his second pick 'em victory of the season last week as he garnered 11 wins. The BTB panel is also beginning to emulate the NFL, as all panelists are moving closer together: Not since week five of the season has the gap between first and last place on the panel been this small, and the gap has decreased by five wins in the last two weeks.
