One look at the league standings and you'll see that in seven of the eight divisions, at least two teams are tied or within a game of first place. This is virtually unheard of this late in the season. Some people call that parity. Others prefer the term mediocrity. It really comes down to your own philosophical preferences. And it makes picking winners this season somewhat of a lottery.
But that's not all. In an effort to ensure that games down the stretch are packed with postseason ramifications, the NFL has loaded the late schedule this year with intra-division games. The final three weeks of the regular season will feature an unprecedented 28 intra-division games, almost doubling the 15 from last season. In week 17, the final regular season weekend, every single game will be an intra-division game.
Last week was a good week for the BTB panel, with four of us coming in at 13-3, and the other two also coming in with double-digit wins. This week promises to be a little more diverse, as nine teams are away favorites this week, and it's highly unlikely that these favorites will all come through. All the picks after the jump, including who the panel picks to win the Eagles - Cowboys game.
