Dez Bryant will give Jerry his money's worth!!

After watching and listening to Jerry Jones's press conference yesterday. I came away with the impression that the Cowboys, Jerry in particular, are not concerned with the recent releases of Ken Hamlin and The Hotel. Although, they may look like immediate needs for the Cowboys to the general public, Jerry is using and applying the late great Bill Walsh's method of releasing a player a year early rather than a year too late. Beside the point, did Cowboys fans really notice when Ken Hamlin sat out those four games down the strech and beg for his return. Not likely. Flozell on the other hand, had his off moments last year but was rock solid when he had to be. One may argue that the playoff game went down the drain after he went out with injury and exposed Doug Free against a premier pass rusher. Nevertheless, Free deserves the chance to start at left tackle in 2010 after performing so well last year. This leads me up to the upcoming draft just hours away now. In Jerry's press conference yesterday, he described a situation where if a "certain player" were to fall to a close enough spot in order to trade up he still would not do it, "highly unlikely" according to Jones. This player although not named in the press conference is none other than Texas product, Dez Bryant. With all the elite tackles long gone before the teens, would Jerry really pass up the chance to pick up what could be an elite receiver in the first round? The 1998 draft wont let him make that same mistake like he did back then when he went with Greg Ellis and saw Randy Moss torture his Cowboys whenever given the chance. Why would Jerry show any kind of interest in a player that could possibly slip right into his hands without a trade at 27? He wouldn't. Jerry is a smart man and a better salesman and this is just a sales pitch to the rest of the NFL that they intend on staying put. With all the speculation about Dez Bryant slidding, Jerry is adding his team to the list in penci that they wont draft this kid or they have "other needs" to fill. The eraser will change that come draft day The Cowboys don't draft offensive linemen in the first round, it just doesn't happen. Not since 1981 have the Cowboys drafted an offensive linemen in the first round, long before Jones took over. This year, names like Earl Thomas, Markice Pouncey, Charles Brown, etc. have all been associated with the Cowboys because of so called needs but the Cowboys themselves seemed pleased with their current roster. Futhermore, half of their class of 2009 got hurt or sparingly saw any playing time last year. Therefore, it allows the Cowboys to sell a few of their picks in order to move up in this draft if they had to. This is only more ammunition for Jerry Jones and we all know he's a gunsliger. The only difference with this years draft compared to the 1998 draft is that Jerry's aiming at the bull's eye rather than the target. So one shot is all he need this year and thats Dez Bryant.........Bull's Eye!
