Why not?
Dallas picks 27th in the round. The Cowboys need just one player to drop to them, preferably at the FS or OL spots. Let's review who's still available. I'm going to be rather conservative with my picks, meaning these are guys with fairly solid 2nd round picks. Also know that the wow factor will go up; guys with 3rd round grades are going to be called here :
QBs (2) Jimmy Clausen & Colt McCoy
These two should go in the first half of the 2nd. Cleveland surely is looking for a QB. Buffalo and Seattle might also want a signal caller here.
WRs (5 minimum) Arrelious Benn, Golden Tate, Damian Williams, Brandon LaFell, Dexter McCluster
Only two receivers went in the first round, and not one until pick 22. I see a mini-run in the 2nd.
Tight ends (1) Rob Gronkowski
Others might go, like Florida's Anthony Hernandez, but tight ends tend to drop.
RB (?)
Will a back be taken in the 2nd? We might see them passed over. Look at how San Diego jumped up to take Ryan Matthews. They needed a back and didn't feel confident any back at the end of the first round. Toby Gerhardt might slip in.
OTs (4) Roger Saffold, Charles Brown, Vladimir Ducasse, Bruce Campbell
Gs (2) Jon Asamoah, John Jerry
That's 14 on the offensive side of the ball.
Defense
DTs (5) Cam Thomas, Terence Cody, Lamarr Houston, Brian Price, Linval Joseph
This is the heart of the 2010 Draft, and five DTs went in the first, with Jacksonville stunning mockers by taking Tyson Alualu in the 10th spot. It's possible five more could go in the second.
DEs/OLBs (5) Everson Griffen, Ricky Sapp, Corey Wootton, Sergio Kindle, Daryl Washington,
ILB (1) Sean Lee
S (4) Taylor Mays, Nate Allen, Morgan Burnett, Major Wright
CBs (3) Brandon Ghee, Jerome Murphy, Chris Cook
That's 18, which gives us 32 total.
Somebody good on this list will be around at pick 59. Stay right here and we'll live blog you to the pick.
