Be nervous: this is the Skins

I understand why everyone is super confident going into the Skins game expecting a BIlls style blowout – BUT when we play the Skins, the "wrong" team often loses. Even more interesting is that when the Skins and Boys play in the season opener, the loser has gone to the Superbowl. Look at this history:

’83: Season opener at Skins. Cowboys won 31-30 despite almost 100 fewer yards off the back of a couple of Danny White bombs to Tony Hill. Loser went on to the SuperBowl – smashing the Boys 31-10 in Dallas on the way.

’89: Our 1-15 team got its lone win was vs the vastly superior 10-6 Skins

’91: The game I think that marked the arrival of the 90’s Boys: The 6-5 team won in Washington against an UNDEFEATED Skins team. They won their next 4 games straight and won their first playoff game in ~10 years. Loser won the SuperBowl.

’93: Season opener at Skins. The eventually 4-12 Skins crushed the Boys 35-10 in the opener. Loser won the SuperBowl

’95: Inferior 6-10 Skins team swept our SuperBowl team generating half of our 4 losses. Loser won the SuperBowl

In the late ‘90s/ early 2000’s we went 10-0 against the Redskins. This was a with a Dallas team that went 5-11 three consecutive seasons but remained undefeated against the Skins.

And need I remind anyone of that bizarre finish in Washington in 2006 – with the blocked Vanderjagt FG and face mask penalty that led to a Skins FG to win the game with time expired.

Recent history has been more true to our overall records with Cowboys winning 5 out of the last 6 games, but be nervous, this is the Skins.....

Then again, loser goes to the SuperBowl.
