Week 9 NFL Picks: Approaching The Halfway Mark

As we reach the halfway mark of the season, five teams have already matched or surpassed their 2010 win totals (DET, SF, BUF, CIN, CAR). The Cowboys still have a way to go before matching their 2010 win total, but our pick 'em panel is optimistic that the Cowboys will take a step in that direction this week.

The league remains as tight as ever, with 58 of 116 games so far decided by 7 points or fewer, the 3rd most in NFL history through Week 8 (62-'99; 60-'83). This doesn't making picking the winners for the weekend games any easier.

And every time you think you have a surefire stat to help you make your picks, that stat seems to backfire. Case in point, entering last weekend, teams coming off a bye were 3-9. But in last week's games, they were 5-1. Go figure.
