Super Bowl 45, which kicks-off at 6:30 PM EST tonight at Cowboys Stadium, won't feature our beloved Cowboys. What a shame that we missed out on the opportunity to host and play in the big game, but such is life when you have a 1-7 start to the season and fire your coach in mid-season. Instead, we have to watch a couple of rivals play, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers.
So who ya got?
I'm going with Green Bay. The Steelers have now tied the Cowboys with eight Super Bowl appearances (including this one), and they have one more Lombardi Trophy at six. I don't want them to get to far ahead of us by picking up another one. Plus, I still haven't forgiven them for those two Super Bowl wins in the 70s over the Cowboys.
During the 90s, Dallas had a pretty good rivalry going with Green Bay, but it was pretty much one-sided in the 'Boys favor. Also, in a weird way, I'd like to thank the Packers. Their mid-season drubbing of Dallas was the trigger-point to replace Wade Phillips with Jason Garrett. So, in the end, that game was kind of a blessing. The Packers have three Lombardi's, so they aren't quite threatening our five yet. Plus, they're the NFC representative, and I usually go with my home conference.
What about you?
