Dallas Cowboys News: Dez Bryant, Tony Romo And Mike Jenkins

One serving of Cowboys Tidbits, please.
One serving of Cowboys Tidbits, please.

Earlier today, we looked at five middle and upper management tidbits. Now let's look at five for the Cowboys' employees.

--- Dez Bryant is heavily anticipating being able to work with new receivers coach Jimmy Robinson. [dallasnews.com] I think we are all heavily anticipating this presumed match made in heaven. With Robinson's ability to advance NFL receivers careers, and Dez Bryant's remarkable raw talent, it should be a fun ride. There's no shortage of articles proclaiming the need to have Dez Bryant start, to which we here at BTB say... duh. Dave brought us the news on his rehab and his willingness to still play special teams despite his anticipated larger piece of chicken at the dinner table.

--- The Cowboys have informed cornerback Bryan McCann that his services will be needed next season. [espn.com] McCann will be an exclusive rights free agent, a designation that the Cowboys had until March 3rd to enact. I like McCann, his returns from the 2010 season will live on in Cowboys lore for many future seasons. His fumbles on returns I could do without. I definitely want to see him in the fold though, and  see if he can contribute consistently as opposed to just the big play.

--- Jason Garrett follows last week's assessment by QB coach Wade Wilson; Tony Romo is all the way back. [SportsDaydfw.com] Tony had me at the fist pump from the Mavs game. That was his bad arm, you know. Every year creates new material for the Romo non-enthusiasts and this year the refrain is "Kitna was successful in this offense and he's a journeyman." Child please. The stink of last season is slowly leaving my psyche, and I can't wait to see Romo back on the field come July.

--- Coach Garrett still has confidence in cornerback Mike Jenkins and expects a bounce back season from MJ in 2011. [Ft. Worth Star Telegram] Well, we really can't ask for them to do anything beyond acknowledge that he stunk up the joint. Regardless of who is drafted or signed in free agency, the Cowboys need Jenkins to work out. He was a first round pick and even in years where you have two, a bust sets you too far back.

--- Other teams guys: it looks like the Patriots are going to let T Nick Kaczur hit free agency. Injured last year, he wasn't getting his spot back from Sebastian Vollmer anyway. Could he be an option for Dallas at RT? [bostonherald.com] A should-be reliable source has announced that the Dolphins have signed NT Paul Soliai to a one-year, $12 million contract. The source? His agent's twitter feed. Green Bay Packers ILB AJ Hawk could be on the market this off-season, as the team ponders picking up his $10 million salary hit. [nationalfootballpost.com]
