We have hope. NFL.com and ESPN are reporting the sides have agreed (or are close to agreeing) to a 7-day extension. Maybe we won't have a work stoppage after all.
Sources have indicated that the NFL Players Association and the league are close to agreeing on a seven-day extension of talks on a new collective bargaining agreement, one day after the sides agreed to a 24-hour extension of the expiration of the current CBA.
It is not yet clear if the parties will take the weekend off from negotiations. The seven-day clock would not stop in that case, meaning the sides will have five more days of negotiations, lasting through Friday, March 11.
