The Cowboys have not drafted anybody yet. The Cowboys haven't done anything in free agency yet. Heck, it's not even clear whether there will be a 2011 season at all, much less how many games will end up actually being played.
But ... the schedule for the 2011 NFL season was released earlier this week! Which prompted our friends over at ESPNDallas.com to offer up their predictions for the 2011 Cowboys.
After the break, see what Todd Archer, Tim MacMahon and Calvin Watkins predict for the Cowboys' 2011 season and you can weigh in with your own thoughts.
I could offer up all sorts of snide and sarcastic remarks about how nothing of consequence outside of a couple of coaching hires (most of whom hardly warrant a mention in the ESPN write-up) has happened yet - no draft, no free agency, no OTAs, no training camp, not even any team meetings - and yet the ESPN writers offer up their predictions with a seemingly straight face.
But I'm not going there. After all, those guys are operating in the same vacuum that we all are. So here they are, the predictions for the 2011 Cowboys season from the three former DMN writers:
- Todd Archer: 10-6, 3-3 in the division
- Tim McMahon: 10-6, 4-2 in the division
- Calvin Watkins: 7-9, 1-5 in the division
So folks, what do you think about these predictions? Too early, too pessimistic, too unfounded?
We may not know a lot about what will happen in the 2011 season, but - for now - we know one thing: the Jets are going to be at the Meadowlands at 7:20 PM CT on Sunday evening, Sept. 11. We’ve got to get ready for them. The Jets don't care about these predictions, the Jets are preparing for that Sunday, so we've got to get ready.
