Cowboys Top 10 Biggest Draft Busts Of The Jerry Jones Era: #5

Our continuing series looking at the Top 10 Biggest Draft Busts Of The Jerry Jones Era rolls on with #5. The guidelines - Must have been drafted during Jerry Jones' era (1989 - present), needs to be a player chosen in the 1st or 2nd round. Anybody below that is excused for sucking. It's not a list of the worst players, but a list of the worst value to the team, based on lack of contributions and when they were drafted. Also, certain intangibles can be thrown into the mix.

5. Tie: Shane Hannah (1995, 2nd round, #63, G, Michigan State) / Kendell Watkins (1995, 2nd round, #59, TE, Mississippi State)

Back to that 1995 draft which was a total disaster. We already had Sherman Williams on our list who was taken with the 46th pick (2nd round). The Cowboys followed that up with Kendell Watkins and Shane Hannah. Hannah never even appeared in a game for the Cowboys. A second round pick who didn't last past a season and never played. Kendell Watkins was a little better, he managed one catch in his Cowboys career and played a little special teams, but by 1996 he was also done.

If you ever wonder how the Cowboys hit free-fall in the late 90s, take a look at the 1995 draft.
