This will be an limited series based upon Dallas's actual Draft picks. Based heavily on my pre-draft Series, How They would Fit, I will be taking each pick, and break them Down to see just how they will fit in Dallas' Offense/Defense as I see it. I admit that I am that I am not as handy with stats as say OCC or FiTaT, I do consider my self to be pretty good at "roster breakdown". So these should be fairly easy reads,(even for you Tan, haha, just joking man). Now I have Already done a post about Tyron Smith, and KD beat me to Bruce Carter, So I want to look at the 3rd round pick, Demarco Murray. Now there has been a lot of WTF!!!!ing going on about this pick. Honestly I think it is a good pick, for reasons I will state in my post.
First Off lets look at Mr. Murray, as I am sure very few have researched him( I know I sure didn't).....

Now for Comparisions sake lets look at Felix Jones who Demarco is compared to:

The one thing that stands out is that Murray is not only faster than Felix, but has more upper body strength than Jones, However, Jones destroys Murray in the 3-cone drill, while Both are almost equal in the 20 yard shuttle. Both are very explosive, with Murray having the edge due to his Broad jump. So what does this mean? It means, imo, that Dallas just Drafted Felix Jones V2.0....not bad for a 3rd rounder. But How does he Fit? Here is how I see it:
Felix and Murray will form that 1-2 punch that this team has been looking for. Felix seems at his best when limited to 15-20 "Touches", so I could say that would probably be true for Murray. The Key thing is this. Subbing Murray for Felix means no loss in speed, unlike with Tashard or Barber. So in any given set up Dallas will have that "game breaking ability" that either Felix and/or Murray provide. Plus Murray has better hands (coming out of College that is), and is actually faster and stronger(thus may be a better blocker). Also Murray gives Dallas an "insurance policy" in case Felix gets injured.
Now a lot of People are Assuming that Murray replaces Barber. I don't think that. I think Murray will replace Choice. Now Iove TC, don't get me wrong. However, At this point Choice seems to be out of favor with our new HC, for what ever reason. And what does Choice bring that Murray doesn't at this point? Not to mention that Choice is considered a Poor route runner, and that his Blitz pickup leaves much to be desired. Now would they release Choice? No, I think they will trade him somewhere(Miami would be a good place) and if unable to do that, will simply let him go during FA(Choice will be eligible for it in 2012 I think).
Also Because Murray is a really good route runner, He would become our "Wes Welker" that many people have been clamoring for. He could line up "in the slot" along with Miles and Dez, or could line up behind Romo in an "I" or "offset-I" formation along with Felix. Think about that Line up for a Minute...MMMMMMMM.
Now does this Post Cover everything I think Murray could do ? No, But I think you guys (and gals) are smart enough to figure the rest out....
As always I welcome Comments and Critiques, so feel free to do both.....Poll Time!
