Headed back to the Big D.
The Cowboys appear to have closed one hole at safety - at the price they wanted. The deal is reportedly for one year and $2.5 million.
In a bad year for the Cowboys defense, the seven-year veteran notched career-highs in tackles (71), interceptions (five), sacks (two) and passes defensed (10). A one-year deal may be an incentive to improve on those figures this year.
With Sensabaugh, the Cowboys leave their options open as to a second veteran signing, as Sensabaugh could play both strong and free safety. The Cowboys will still need another starting safety, and it's likely that will be Abram Elam, who already has an offer from the Cowboys.
Welcome back, Gerald Sensabaugh.
