Will Dre Kirkpatrick be the Cowboys' pick at #14?

The official site of the Cincinnati Bengals, Bengals.com, is conducting a mock draft in which media members from each NFL city make the picks for their teams.

For the Dallas Cowboys, Todd Archer from ESPNDallas.com made the pick.

The situation that presented itself to Archer was as follows: The top five picks went largely as you would expect. The next couple of picks saw a lot of edge rushers and defensive linemen gobbled up. OLB Melvin Ingram (#7), DE Quinton Coples (#8), DT Dontari Poe (#9) and OLB Courtney Upshaw (#12) are all gone by the time Cowboys are on the clock. Even QB Ryan Tannehill is gone, going early to the Chiefs at #11.

Left on the board, among others, are OG David DeCastro, LB Luke Kuechly, CB Dre Kirkpatrick, S Mark Barron and DE Fletcher Cox.

So what does Archer do? Are you comfortable leaving the mock draft fate of the Dallas Cowboys in Archer's hands? Find out after the break whether he made Cowboys fans proud or not.

In the Bengals.com mock draft, Todd Archer picks David DeCastro, OG, Stanford.

Upshaw and Alabama safety Mark Barron seem to be in the mix, too. Among the free-agent guards the Cowboys are casing is Bengals left guard Nate Livings and even if they sign him they know that DeCastro is going to start for the next decade.

Archer goes with the safe pick. He probably knows that he'd be forever vilified by Cowboys fans if he had made another pick.

What would you have done in Archer's place?
