While most of the focus has been draft maneuvering and mocking, there has been a bit of actual news coming out of Valley Ranch and associated with the Cowboys that we need to bring to the masses. We've started to get a picture of the draft eligible players that will be brought into Dallas for pre-draft invites; a designation that we've seen has greatly influenced the front office on draft days past. We've read up on the hungry, desire-led players that head coach Jason Garrett wants to build the team around. Now, we'll review some of the other newsworthy items that may have slipped through your keystroke cracks while you've been soaking up the goodness that my esteemed colleagues have been cranking out this week.

Former Pro Bowl DL Lett Returning To Cowboys As Assistant | NFL.com
Last preseason, Leon Lett was brought in as part of the NFL's Minority Coaching Fellowship to assist defensive line coach Brian Baker. He received some very favorable reviews. So much so, that he is now being brought back as a permanent member of the defensive coaching staff, an assistant line coach to assist in the player's development.
Lett is a two-time pro bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion. despite being well known for a couple major gaffes in his career, he always holds a dear place in most Cowboys fans hearts.

How Much Are The Cowboys Worth? | Scott Crisp
Jaws dropped earlier this week when one of Major League Baseball's flagship franchises, the Los Angeles Dodgers, sold for $2 billion after being purchased for $430 million about five years ago (with some funny MLB politics I might add). Well, in a world where the market creates itself, the worth of sports franchises apparently will see a boost thanks to the sale.
In an appearance on ESPN Radio's "Galloway and Company", CNBC's Sports Business guru Darren Rovell estimated that the Yankees would now be worth around $4 billion dollars... and the Cowboys would clear that by around another billion.
$5 billion.
Yikes. $140 million. 23 years. $5 billion. Totally worth it.
Deion Sanders: Reality TV show coming for Prime Prep | DMN
For the last few years we've heard Deion Sanders boast about the efforts he's made in creating a school to help out kids in need. However, it wouldn't be Deion if he didn't also want to get some additional fame and fortune. He is pitching a reality show for the football team that he is going to coach and that will be able to recruit kids from all over without zoning restrictions. Buckle up.
Callahan Looks At Memphis' Ronald Leary | NBC DFW
It appears that new Cowboys offensive coordinator and line coach Bill Callahan made a pit stop earlier in the week to check out 6'3", 315 lb tackle-turned-guard Ronald Leary in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a left tackle for most of his career, but made the transition to right guard for the final six games of his senior season according to the article.
He barely makes it onto the draft prospect boards at Drafttek.com (29th ranked guard, 387th overall) and CBSSports.com (27th G, 486th overall) as a UDFA possibility.
I asked Shane Hallam, of DraftCountdown.com about him and he had similar evaluation with a little extra upside.

Don't be surprised if this isn't one of the first moves Dallas makes after the draft comes to an end.
Geathers Showing Cowboys Development | The Mothership
The expected odd man out should Dallas draft a defensive lineman early, Clifton Geathers has shown a lot of improvement; much of the credit going to Leon Lett. Geathers stands 6'7 and weighs in at 320 lbs with long arms. These are attributes that can't be taught, but can be molded into advantages.
Adam Schefter picks Cowboys to win East | ESPN Dallas
Tom has already told us why it's so great to be a Cowboys fan. Well, it looks like the bandwagon has started up early as ESPN NFL analyst Adam Schefter has placed some early stock in Dallas' ability to win the NFC East. ESPN's division blogger Dan Graziano wants to see how the offensive line comes together before he makes any predictions, however, and I don't blame him. I also would like to see who from the defensive starting 11 is replaced in the draft.
