The NFL Today released the 2012 dates for rookie and veteran minicamps as well as the OTAs for all teams, including the Dallas Cowboys.

Per league rules, each franchise is permitted to hold a rookie minicamp on one of the first two weekends after the NFL Draft and conduct one mandatory minicamp for veteran players. There is no restriction on the number of minicamps a club may hold for rookie players.

Minicamp Dates

May 4-6 (rookies only)
June 12-14 (rookies and veterans)

OTA Dates

May 21-23,
May 30-June 1
June 4-7

We're still a long way away from seeing real NFL games, but the Dallas Cowboys will get their first look at all their draft picks in this weekend's rookie mini-camp, starting on Friday. Outside of Morris Claiborne, who's still recovering from wrist surgery, all the Cowboys draft picks picks will be on hand, as will the 21 recently signed undrafted free agents and an additional 10+ players the Cowboys are bringing in for a tryout.

Joining all those rookies will be some first-year veterans. Eligible are one-year veterans with less than three games on the Cowboys' active/inactive roster or injured reserve. This includes players like linebacker Orie Lemon, cornerback Teddy Williams, cornerback Mario Butler, defensive tackle Robert Calloway, as well as safety-turned-cornerback Justin Taplin-Ross. All in all, there should be around 40-45 players working out this weekend.
