And things were going so well at Valley Ranch. Now, we have a report of an arrest. Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was arrested for a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. Fox 4 in Dallas has the story:
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was arrested recently in DeSoto. On Saturday evening police responded to a family violence call in the 800 block of East Pleasant Run. Bryant was issued a Class A misdemeanor charge for assaulting a female family member.
Police would not elaborate on the details of the case or Bryant's relationship to the alleged victim. However, they did say she did not require any hospitalization for her injuries. The 23-year-old turned himself in on Monday and immediately posted bond.
Okay, we have no real details on what happened here, so I'm not even going to pretend to comment on it yet.
WFAA.com has this brief info and a comment from Dez:
When contacted by News 8, Bryant would only say there had been an incident, but did not go into detail about it.
"I'm good, I'm good," he said.
We'll just have to wait for the explanations to come out, but still, not the kind of headline we like to see.
Update 9:34PM ET (KD): Per NFL.com, the Cowboys have released the following statement.
UPDATE: The Cowboys later released a statement regarding Bryant's arrest: "We are in the process of gathering information and will not have a comment at this time."
