Gerald Sensabaugh Expects To Play On Monday Night

The Dallas Cowboys hope to get a piece of their secondary back for Monday night. Starting safety Gerald Sensabaugh thinks he'll play after missing last week's game due to injury.

Sensabaugh, who missed the Week 3 victory over Tampa Bay with a calf strain, has missed just two games during his four seasons with the Cowboys.

"I hate missing games," said Sensabaugh, who participated fully in Wednesday's walk-through.

Sensabaugh thinks the Cowboys might have something special with this defense. He's linking what he sees from Mike Jenkins.

"Just to see him out there competing the other night, it almost brings tears to your eyes, just a guy having that much passion for a game," Sensabaugh said. "He’s the Mike Jenkins that he was for us when he was a Pro Bowl player and it’s great to see guys like that. That’s what makes our defense.

"I don’t think we’ve always had players like that, just at all costs, no matter where you are on the depth chart, no matter what it is, whenever you’re called upon, you go out there and compete and embrace it with your teammates. It’s just a different team. It’s just a different defense."

Speaking of helping out at safety, Brandon Carr is being called on for help, and is more than willing to resume his role that started last week as a part-time safety.

"If that's what we have to do for us to get our best 11 on their 11 and to get off the field and win ball games, I'm all for it," Carr said recently. "I came here with one thing in mind and that was to win ball games."

Another option to see some time, but more than likely on special teams is newcomer Eric Frampton.

"I’m going to cram," Frampton said Wednesday. "I’m going to definitely studying the playbook and studying as if something happened, I’d be the next guy up."

"We felt good about his experience as a [special] teams guy and his productivity, and similarly, we feel like he can go in and play defense," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "We felt like he was the best of the options available to us."

[Danny] McCray, the team's best special teams player, will start in [Barry] Church's place. Frampton will inherit some of McCray's special teams duties. "Special teams has been what I’ve been since I’ve been in the league," Frampton said. "I’ve excelled at it. I just go out and do what I do."
