After reports the Dallas Cowboys were looking to hire Rich Bisaccia, veteran NFL special teams coach most recently employed by the San Diego Chargers, the team has made it official.
"Rich has been among the top special teams coordinators in the NFL for the last decade," head coach Jason Garrett said in a statement. "He combines a tremendous amount of expertise to go along with outstanding teaching ability. His enthusiasm and passion for the game are infectious, and his units play with a relentless spirit that we believe is so important."
OCC already put together a complete list of Bisaccia's past jobs, back when the hire was announced (a bit prematurely) by Auburn University. It looks like the deal was well under way then, but some dotting and crossing still had to be done, and perhaps some dollars were still being negotiated.
One additional development is that this looks like it is going to make at least one current Cowboys assistant, Chris Boniol, more comfortable.
@chodnett Bisaccia official, and i was informed at 506pm that Garrett/Bisaccia meetings w Boniol ended and Boniol will b retained #Cowboys

Given that Dan Bailey was one of the most consistent players Dallas had, it is probably a good thing his coach is staying around.
