The Dallas Cowboys are moving into full-time offseason mode. We previously posted about the 10 players they signed to futures contracts. Now they've added nine more players to that list. A few them we are familiar with. Anthony Armstrong has spent some time with Cowboys at WR, TE Colin Cochart was also briefly with Dallas as was long-snapper Charley Hughlett.
The new guys include WR Jared Green. He's the son of former Redskins standout Darrell Green. Green was on the Panthers practice squad.
Green is 6-1, 190, and runs a 4.33 40-yard dash. He's raw - he didn't start playing football until high school and in stops at Virginia and then Southern averaged just 13 catches a season. But the Green pedigree is a starting point.
Linebacker Cameron Sheffield, a fifth-round draft pick of the Chiefs back in 2010.
Sheffield was a three-year starter at defensive end at Troy, totaling 163 tackles, including 28.5 for a loss and 15 quarterback sacks. Sheffield twice earned first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors. Asked to play outside linebacker at the Senior Bowl, Sheffield impressed scouts with his athleticism, making the 6-2, 257-pounder a legitimate rush-linebacker for teams running a 3-4 system.
WR Carlton Mitchell who was a sixth-round pick of the Browns in 2010. Cornerback Brandon Underwood who you can read about here. Plus offensive tackle Adarious Simmons and guard Ray Dominguez.
