Cowboys Injury Update: Ware, Austin Doubtful; Wilcox Ruled Out

The Friday practice report is status quo except for one reserve who is practicing again.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

As expected, DeMarcus Ware was on the sidelines rehabbing again on Friday instead of taking part in practice. This very likely means we'll begin the "Ware Watch" all over again next week as it's doubtful we'll see him on Sunday. Also included in the sideline work was veteran Miles Austin who has had the balky hamstring issue for years now. Luckily Terrance Williams has stepped as has Cole Beasley, giving the Cowboys offense valid options in Austin's place.

Danny McCray returned to practice today which is better news than it usually would have been given the health issues at the safety position. Barry Church is practicing and should play but you have to worry about him tweaking his hamstring. Starter J.J. Wilcox isn't practicing meaning he won't play Sunday. And interim starter Jeff Heath has had a forearm issue. The Cowboys will be doing some mixing and matching back there, and if Church goes down it will get dicey.

Morris Claiborne will be out, expect Dallas to call up Micah Pellerin in the next day. DeVonte Holloman and Brian Waters are also out.

DeMarco Murray should make his much-anticipated return.
