Is It Too Early To Predict The Cowboys 2013 Record?

The Cowboys have not drafted anybody yet. The Cowboys have hardly done anything in free agency so far. Heck, they've only just started voluntary workouts on Monday.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

But ... the schedule for the 2013 NFL season was released earlier this week! Which prompted a number of Cowboys beat writers to offer up their predictions for the 2013 Cowboys. Which in turn prompted us to take a look at what Todd Archer, Tim MacMahon, Calvin Watkins, Jon Machota, Clarence Hill and Tom Orsborne predict for the Cowboys' 2013 season.

Of course nothing of consequence, outside of a couple of coaching hires and free agent signings, has happened yet - no draft, no OTAs, no training camp, not even any official team meetings - and yet here we are reviewing predictions.

But didn't we all start tallying the wins and losses when the schedule came out yesterday? So here they are, the predictions for the 2013 Cowboys season from the three ESPNDallas writers, one writer for the DMN, one for the Star-Telegram and one for the San Antonio Evening News.

Writer Organization Proj. Record Record in Division
Calvin Watkins ESPN D 10-6 2-4
Todd Archer ESPN D 9-7 4-2
Tim MacMahon ESPN D 8-8 2-4
Tom Orsborn SAEN 8-8 3-3
Clarence Hill Star-T. 8-8 3-3
Jon Machota DMN 7-9 3-3

We may not know a lot about what will happen in the 2013 season, but - for now - we know one thing:

It’s time to get to work. The Giants are going to be at the Cowboys Stadium at 7:30 on Sunday, September 8. They’re an awfully good football team in all areas – we’ve got to get ready for them."

So folks, what do you think about these predictions?
