2013 First Round Picks On Cowboys Schedule

Nothing like looking into the future...

USA TODAY Sports

Why wait? Let's take a sneak peak into the new player personnel matchups that are now on the table for the Dallas Cowboys 2013 season. Each team on the schedule (except for Washington, he he he) has new blood in their lineups that will be projected to start. How will Dallas matchup against them? Let's see.

Week Date/Time Opponent First Round Pick Matchup Notes Travis Frederick's Matchup
1 9/8 830p NY Giants (NBC) Justin Pugh He'll be lining up at right tackle, Anthony Spencer gets to welcome him to primetime. Justin Tuck, Linval Joseph, Marvin Austin, Cullen Jenkins
2 9/15 1pm @ Kansas City Eric Fisher Fisher's 2nd professional game will be against DeMarcus Ware, the best rusher of his generation. Dontari Poe
3 9/22 1pm St. Louis Tavon Austin, Alec Ogletree Thoughts of Orlando Scandrick being shaked against Atlanta dance in my head. Ogletree will be in on plenty plays behind Rams D Line Michael Brockers
4 9/29 4:25pm @ San Diego DJ Fluker Even if they start Fluker at LT, they might move him to right for this game. He'll never have the ability to match Ware's speed. Who knows? They don't really have a NT right now
5 10/6 4:25pm Denver Sylvester Williams Dallas' first look at a missed target. Will most likely be matched This will be the matchup here. The man that was targeted vs the man that was picked.
6 10/13 8:30pm Washington(NBC) Robert Griffin's ACL Revenge. Barry Cofield
7 10/20 1pm @ Philadelphia Lane Johnson Probably will start on the right side, meaning another rookie for Anthony Spencer to face. Johnson was considered the most raw of the OTs, so this might be fun. Isaac Sopoaga
8 10/27 1pm @ Detroit Ziggy Ansah Ziggy Ansah vs Tyron Smith. it will be interesting to see how often Dallas runs to this side. Ndamakong Suh, Nick Fairley. Yikes.
9 11/3 1pm Minnesota Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes, Cordarrelle Patterson Missed target #2, and the player that will be linked to Dallas like Randy Moss was. Rhodes has the size to match up with Dez and Austin, but no help. Patterson we'll have to see if he's a threat in Year One. Plenty of size and wiggle, questionable route running and hands. Here's another key matchup from draft day. Why did Floyd slip? Can Frederick show that they made the right choice?
10 11/10 @ New Orleans (NBC) Kenny Vaccaro Rob Ryan had to pretend like he didn't need a top safety while in Dallas. A player that wanted to be in Dallas, with a bitter D-Coordinator on National TV. Yes, I write game storylines for a fee. Broderick Bunkley/Akiem Hicks
11 BYE BYE BYE I just don't see anyway Dallas loses this matchup, but never say never. Rest for the rookie
12 11/24 4:25pm @ NY Giants Justin Pugh Part two, by this point, the Giants will have shuffled their line and Pugh will be playing center or left guard. Take 2: Justin Tuck, Linval Joseph, Marvin Austin, Cullen Jenkins
13 11/28 4:30pm Oakland (CBS) DJ Hayden His skill is elite press skills, but can any corner truly press Dez Bryant? No Richard Seymour, no problem.
14 12/9 8:40pm @Chicago (ESPN) Kyle Long Long will kick inside to guard for Chicago, meaning that he'll be matched up against Ratliff, Hatcher, Lissemore and maybe a draft pick. Henry Melton. Yeah. Welp.
15 12/15 4:25pm Green Bay Datone Jones Jones could be a problem should the Cowboys not continue improving the offensive line. BJ Raji
16 12/22 1pm @ Washington Robert Griffin's Socks Hate them dudes, man. Cofield and don't forget Stephen Bowen.
17 12/29 1pm Philadelphia Lane Johnson Man, this sure did set up to make Jordan Woy (Spencer's agent) happy. Spencer gets six, maybe seven games against rookie right tackles. That's almost half of the season. Sopoaga might be replaced by a upcoming draft pick by this point.
