Dallas Cowboys 2013 Draft: Cowboys Select TE Gavin Escobar At 47

USA TODAY Sports

Two years ago, when the Cowboys brought in Rob Ryan, they gave him one toy in the draft and picked offense with every other pick. The Cowboys are trending in that direction as they add a second piece to the offense. With the 47th pick in the draft, the Cowboys have selected Gavin Escobar, TE from San Diego State.

Escobar is a huge pass-catching target, checking in at over 6'6" tall. His body control and hands are extremely note-worthy and he adds to the tight end stable that is currently led by Jason Witten. Witten's yards per catch decreased tremendously last season, and if the Cowboys are interested in having two vertical tight ends that can really stretch the middle of the field, then they needed to add a player to James Hanna.

It would seem that Dallas is going to be trotting out a new wrinkle or two on offense.
