Cowboys Claim LB Kyle Bosworth From Giants, Lose LB Brandon Magee To Cleveland

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

The roster action continues for the Dallas Cowboys. Reports indicate the Cowboys put in a waiver claim for former New York Giant Kyle Bosworth and were awarded the player.

At the same time, the Cowboys lost out on the services of UDFA Brandon Magee, who was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns.

The Giants caused some consternation among the Giants beat writers and the Giants fans when they unexpectedly cut Bosworth yesterday. Bosworth had been a standout on special teams in the preseason, and that will likely be his role in Dallas.

Bosworth was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010, where he spent his rookie season on injured reserve. He played in 9 games for the Jaguars in 2011 and 16 in 2012 before being signed by the Giants in May this year. In his last year in Jacksonville, Bosworth played 272 (58%) snaps on special teams and 250 (22%) on defense. He is also the nephew of former NFL linebacker, Brian Bosworth.

Brandon Magee was a likely candidate for the Cowboys practice squad, but now moves up onto the Browns' 53-man roster.
