DeMarco Murray Added To Pro Bowl Roster; 5th Cowboy - Nick Eatman, DallasCowboys.com
DeMarco Murray steps in as an injury replacement for the 49ers' Frank Gore. This makes Murray the fourth Cowboys player making his first trip to the Pro Bowl this year.

Murray becomes the first Cowboys running back since Marion Barber in 2007 to make the Pro Bowl and just the second since Emmitt Smith’s eighth and final selection in 1999.

Jones Sticks By Coordinators, Talks Garrett Contract - Rowan Kavner, DallasCowboys.com
Jerry Jones had a long sit-down with the media yesterday, and we'll probably be talking about what he said all week. One aspect Kavner touches on in his article is that Jerry Jones plans on all the coaches still under contract staying aboard, and that includes both coordinators and the head coach.

"I had a guy tell me one time how to be successful, that no human can be right over 50 percent of the time on any decision, but it’s the ones that cut their bad ones off quick and let their good ones run long (that work out)," Jones said. "That’s hard to do. That’s hard to accept quickly to cut a bad decision off quick."

"We all know the adage of the gold miner that walked away and the other one that took one more swing and hit the pick and found the gold stream. So, you don’t want to quit. It’s easier said than done to let your mistakes go short and your good decisions long."

Dallas Cowboys DC Monte Kiffin: ‘We’re going to get better. It takes time sometimes.’ | Brandon George, DMN
George writes that Kiffin believes the Cowboys’ defense will see a payoff in their second full season in his scheme.

"It takes time sometimes," Kiffin said. "We were in a new system and we had some injuries. It was a combination of both. Still, were we excited about last year? No. But we’re going to get better. I can tell you that right now."

Cowboys Have Two Players On "All Value" Team - Blogging The Boys
Spotrac, a website that deals with sports salaries and caps, has put out a list of the players in each conference that are the best value at their position. They base their ratings on the players' cash compensation (not the cap figure, which, as Stephen Jones has noted, is not real money but a league accounting tool) and the ratings the player garnered during the season at Pro Football Focus. Dallas is represented on the NFC squad by two players, Pro Bowl DT Jason Hatcher and dependable PK Dan Bailey.

Jerry Jones takes a chance keeping Kiffin - Dallas Cowboys Blog - ESPN Dallas
Watkins dejectedly realizes that if the Cowboys were going to make a change to the top of the defensive staff, they would have done it a while ago. As it is, Kiffin isn't going anywhere.

Jones says Romo 'much better' and expected to work before training camp, although on no schedule yet - Carlos Mendez, Star-Telegram
According to Jerry Jones and QB coach Wade Wilson, Romo seems to be recovering well, and the expectation is that he'll be ready before training camp.

Dallas Cowboys make Carlos Polk assistant special teams coach | Brandon George, DMN
Polk played linebacker for eight seasons in the NFL, the last of which he played for the Cowboys in 2008. He was an assistant special teams coach for Bisaccia in San Diego from 2010 to 2012 and spent 2013 as an intern with the Cowboys. With Chris Boniol leaving, Polk has now been promoted to assistant special teams coach for the Cowboys.

Cowboys looking at former Giants coach - Calvin Watkins, ESPN Dallas
Watkins writes that the Cowboys are looking at Mike Pope as a potential replacement for Wes Phillips. Pope was with the Giants for a combined 23 years, first from 1983 to 1991, and again from 2000 to 2013.

What We’re Looking For Here At Senior Bowl - Bryan Broaddus, DallasCowboys.com
Broaddus details things to watch out for at the Senior Bowl and ruminates on which defensive lineman may have a "quick twitch". If you like 80's rock band Bad English, have never heard of newcomers London Grammar, and believe proper punctuation is for wimps, then you'll enjoy this anecdote Broaddus shares with his readers:

I was reminded this week from Monte Kiffin how when he was on Jon Gruden’s staff in Tampa and were coaching the game in 2005, when coaches on Bill Parcells staff in Dallas asked if Kiffin a 4-3 coach, could give DeMarcus Ware some reps during the practice at outside linebacker to see if Ware who was a 4-3 end at Troy could stand up and play on the outside. Kiffin had no problem with the request and the Cowboys were able to get a good look at Ware which helped them in their draft evaluation of him.

Senior Bowl primer - Calvin Watkins, ESPN Dallas
Compare and contrast: Watkins delivers his own version of what to look for at the Senior Bowl, and notes that the Cowboy won't be focusing as much on looking for new coaches as they have in the past.

Coach Jason Garrett will seek a tight ends coach -- Wes Phillips is heading to Washington -- and the team won't replace kicking coach Chris Boniol. Also, the Cowboys will enter the Senior Bowl with a defensive coordinator (Monte Kiffin) and offensive coordinator (Bill Callahan) in place from last season. There was speculation each would be replaced after the 2013 season, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Fisher doesn't think there will be major issues for the Cowboys in re-signing kicker Dan Bailey.

Five positions the Cowboys need to upgrade this offseason | Jon Machota, FOX Sports
Machota lists five positions the Cowboys need to focus on to improve the roster for next season: DT, DE, Safety, LB and OL.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: ‘I don’t anticipate drafting a quarterback high’ | Rainer Sabin, DMN
So there you have it folks. Or is he bluffing?
