What can you say about the Pro Bowl? Not much that really means anything. The NFL tried to spice it up this year by doing away with conference affiliations and allowing for a team draft for the two opposing sides - it was a noble effort. But there is just no way the Pro Bowl will ever matter that much to NFL fans like the other sports All-Star games mean to their fanbase.
When you take the pace and intensity out of professional football, it becomes a farce. In other sports, showing off your individual skills is exciting and fun to watch; in the NFL unless you can show off your skills while dealing with the threat of someone crushing your body with a vicious tackle, then it's really just a rough version of two-hand touch. And it comes at the end of the year, because of fear of injury. If it came in the middle of the season, people would care, but it can't come in the middle of the season because of injury. It's just doomed to irrelevance.
Yet, sometimes I still watch it, depending on what I got going on that day. So if you're watching the Pro Bowl, here is your thread.
