The Dallas Cowboys started preparing for their game against Washington a day later than usual this week because the actual game is a day later, Monday night. Jason Garrett decided that an extra day of rest yesterday was more important to the team, so the Cowboys first practice of the week is today. The news for the Cowboys in the injury department remains on the positive side of things as they've enjoyed a very healthy season by NFL standards.
Returning to practice today is linebacker Bruce Carter, who was really starting to have a great season before the injury hit. He strained his quad in the Saints game but looks like he will be ready to go on Monday night. Carter was becoming a disruptive presence at his strong-side linebacker spot, for more on that check out neithan20000's article. Brandon Carr hurt his hamstring in the Giants game but played through it and is practicing today, he should also be good for Monday night.
As we talked about earlier, defensive tackle Amobi Okoye made his first appearance in pads at practice since 2012. Just getting back on the field is major accomplishment for Okoye. Joining him was DeMarcus Lawrence who is practicing but can't play until the Arizona game.
Missing from practice today was Tony Romo, who usually takes Wednesday's off, but is taking Thursday off since the practice schedule was delayed a day this week. Doug Free is still not practicing, also missing were defensive end Jack Crawford and safety Jakar Hamilton.
