Cowboys Thursday Practice Report: Rolando McClain Still Missing Practice

Dallas is relatively healthy, but they could really use their middle linebacker.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys once again practiced without three of their linebackers on Thursday, two of them starters. It's already been determined that Bruce Carter will miss the upcoming game, what the Cowboys are hoping to avoid is both Carter and Rolando McClain not playing against Seattle. McClain did not take part in practice again on Thursday. Earlier today, Gary Morris showed us what could happen if you don't contain Russell Wilson, his running is a real weapon. Having some top-flight linebackers to run him down would be nice. Tomorrow will be the big tell, if McClain doesn't practice then in at least a limited fashion, he might not go. For now, he's only been participating in the daily walk-throughs.

Also missing practice were reserves Cameron Lawrence and cornerback Tyler Patmon. Patmon missed practice due to illness. Jeremy Parnell (ribs) was back at practice but limited, Anthony Spencer was also designated as limited.

The Cowboys made a roster move according to the Dallas Morning News. Wide receiver LaRon Byrd was released from the practice squad after being signed Tuesday, he was replaced by wide receiver Kerry Taylor.

Taylor, 25, is in his fourth NFL season. He went undrafted in 2011 out of Arizona State. Taylor (6-0, 200) started four games last season for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had 19 catches for 189 yards for one touchdown last season for Jacksonville. He’s appeared in 10 NFL games for Jacksonville and the Arizona Cardinals the last two seasons.
