You may not have realized this if you're a fan of a team in the NFC East, but the standings in other divisions are pretty close. Through the first 11 weeks, there are 21 teams either in or within one game of a playoff spot.
That means that many teams will be gearing up to make a playoff push down the stretch, including the Dallas Cowboys, who have their eyes on the division title with a wildcard bye as a possible reward.
To do that, they have to get to 8-3 and help the Giants move further up the draft order in the process.
The Cowboys are one of five NFC teams with a .700 or better winning percentage this season. The other four are Arizona (9-1), Detroit (7-3), Green Bay (7-3), and Philadelphia (7-3). Add whichever team lucks into the top spot in the NFC South and you could be looking at the 2014 NFC playoff teams right there. The 49ers and Seahawks (both 6-3) may disagree with this assessment, but nobody will be any wiser until the Week 12 games are in the books.
