It’s Week 14 of the NFL season and only four games remain to decide who advances to the playoffs. Who makes "the tournament" is anybody's guess: 26 teams remain in (mathematical) contention for a trip to Super Bowl XLIX, and 21 teams are still either in or within one game of a playoff spot.
Not a single team has clinched playoff spot yet, though two teams could do that this weekend: The Colts make the playoffs with a win and if Houston loses in Jacksonville. The Broncos are in if they win - and if five (!) other games play out exactly as the Broncos need it.
In the NFC, only two teams are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention: the Giants and Redskins.
For many of the remaining teams, the season could be over after this week, which makes this another potentially exciting weekend. Our panel this week is unanimous in picking the Cowboys over the Bears and projects the following results for the other NFC playoff contenders:
- Detroit wins at home against Tampa Bay
- Philadelphia loses at home to Seattle
- Arizona loses at home to Kansas City
- San Francisco wins in Oakland
