Cowboys @ Bears: DeMarcus Lawrence Inactive, Josh Brent Active

The Cowboys to miss the rookie.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

All week long rookie defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence was listed as limited in practice, but he did participate in each practice. Players who do that are usually active for the next game. Not so this week as the Dallas Cowboys will be without Lawrence in their game against the Chicago Bears. Lawrence hurt his ribs on Thanksgiving Day and had been listed as questionable but most sources had expected  him to play.

The Cowboys will be getting help along the defensive line as they have put defensive tackle Josh Brent on the active list for the first time in two years. Brent has been working his way back into shape and tonight he'll finally see some action. His conditioning has improved, but his football instincts may be a little rusty. Still, his size in the middle should help.

The Cowboys inactives besides Lawrence are Jeff Heath, Tyler Patmon, Dustin Vaughan, Dekoda Watson, Tony Hills and Donald Hawkins.
