Cowboys Sean Lee Hurt His Left Knee; Jason Garrett Says He Will Be Evaluated This Afternoon

His left knee is the issue.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Jason Garrett spoke to the media after the Dallas Cowboys first practice of this particular OTA session. Everybody wanted an update on the injury to Sean Lee. Coach Jason Garrett said that his left knee was the problem and that he will be going to a doctor this afternoon to get a medical opinion. Garrett was not ready to discuss any hypotheticals on Lee and offered no kind of prognosis. Garrett's demeanor seemed a little tense but it was hard to read too much into it.

Originally it was reported that Lee was knocked to the ground by Zack Martin and came up lame, but Garrett said he might have overrun a play then planted his leg in the ground to cut back. As he tried to leave the field with the help of trainers he was heard to scream an expletive, usually something that indicates the players thinks it's a serious issue.

Other player updates:

Morris Claiborne is not expected to do much in team stuff at OTAs, but will participate in drills and individual stuff. The team wants to keep him out of situations were they compete against other players.

Tony Romo executed the plan for today, a little bit of team and walk-through and threw individual routes, but kept him out of full speed stuff. Thought he had a good day.
