Dallas Cowboys Roster Cuts 2014: WR Jamar Newsome First To Go

Like the rest of the league, the Cowboys are releasing players to get down to 53.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

By 4 PM EST on Saturday, all NFL teams must be down to their 53-man roster. The Dallas Cowboys are no exception. We'll be tracking their cuts as we receive them and posting them here. As Joey noted previously, the decisions around the defensive line are probably going to be the trickiest since injuries are going to play a major role. If the Cowboys go long at that position, then things like a third quarterback, a fourth running back or an extra offensive lineman could be impossible to manage. Orlando Scandrick's suspension also makes for an interesting decision at cornerback, and the lack of stability at linebacker also opens things up. In short, the Cowboys have a lot of moving parts to deal with.

Cuts:

WR Jamar Newsome - Even though Newsome had a very productive preseason, including a couple of acrobatic catches, it wasn't enough to stay on the roster.
