Dallas Cowboys Roster Cuts 2014: RB D.J. Adams Is Second Cowboy To Get Cut

The Cowboys cut running back D.J. Adams, making him the second cut of the day.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun is reporting that the Cowboys have cut running back D.J. Adams.

The Cowboys signed running back D.J. Adams on August 9 this year, shortly after rookie Ben Malena suffered a quadriceps injury during a preseason game in San Diego.

Adams, who began his college career at Maryland and finished it at Portland State, was signed as an undrafted free agent by San Diego this year and cut in June. He ran for 1,600 yards and scored 19 rushing touchdowns as a senior at Maryland.

In his last preseason game for the Cowboys, Adams finished with seven carries for 10 yards and five receptions for 35 yards.

Adams never stood much of a chance to make the roster, and its not even sure at this point whether he'll be a candidate for the practice squad, even if the practice squad has been extended to 10 players.
