All through the bye week and into the start of this week, the Dallas Cowboys (and their fans) we're hopeful that Dez Bryant would be able to return to action against the New York Giants. The first step in that process would have been for Bryant to take part in practices, even on a limited basis. Jason Garrett has already said that Bryant would need to practice this week and show the signs that he is physically able to compete, That didn't happen on Wednesday. Bryant was the only Cowboy who missed practice. He continues his rehab and several insiders have said that the optimism that Bryant will play on Sunday is fading.
On the positive side, Randy Gregory returned to practice today and is expected to play this week. His presence along side that of Greg Hardy will help the Cowboys generate a pass rush against Eli Manning. The best way to slow down the Giants and force Manning to make mistakes is to get in his face. The Cowboys also got back wide receiver Brice Butler.
