[UPDATE: According to Todd Archer, the guaranteed money given to McFadden is basically nothing.]

With DeMarco Murray freshly out the door and in Philadelphia, the Dallas Cowboys have made their move for at least a partial replacement. Veteran running back Darren McFadden has agreed to a two-year deal with the Cowboys.

McFadden, of course, is a famous first-round pick for the Oakland Raiders. He was drafted number four in 2008 out of Arkansas. He spent his whole career with the Raiders, but never quite lived up to the lofty expectations of him coming out of Arkansas. Injury has been part of the problem for McFadden, there were times where he looked very good as a back, but he could never be consistent because of nagging injuries. Last year he was the number two back for parts of the season and rushed for 534 yards on 155 carries. He will certainly be thrown into the mix with Ryan Williams, Joseph Randle and whoever the Cowboys draft at running back. Dallas definitely looks like they'll take a more running-back-by-committee approach.
