The latest news on the deadline day deal for Dez Bryant comes from Ian Rapoport and Rand Getlin via twitter, and for any Cowboys fan - it's welcome news. Of course, they are relying on sources, and we all know that sources are not always reliable, but we'll post it anyway.
From @Rand_Getlin & me: #Cowboys increased their offer to Dez Bryant beyond $13M, making a strong push. Bryant is more optimistic than ever
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) July 15, 2015
Dez Bryant would be playing under a $12.8 million deal for 2015 if he did nothing, so the Cowboys would be trying to entice him with a little more to get a long-term deal done. What's missing from this tweet, and is central to any deal, is how much guaranteed money the Cowboys are offering Dez. The line that Bryant is "more optimistic than ever" is certianly encouraging, and maybe all parties were truly waiting for the deadline day to get something worked out.
Stay tuned, we'll see where this goes.
