The Dallas Cowboys travel up to San Francisco to face the 49ers in their second preseason game of 2015 on Sunday night. The main storyline has two points: What do the Cowboys think of the turf at the stadium, and how much will that affect who they play in the game? And there are a lot of players in question for the game. The turf at Levi's Stadium has been a hot topic recently, its condition being less than desirable in terms of stability and footing. Dallas may not want to risk playing any of the guys recovering from injury. That would also affect Tony Romo, it's doubtful Dallas would throw him out there unless he has at least some of his starting line intact.
Cowboys fans everywhere are wanting to see the three running backs in action. The most hotly discussed position on the Cowboys this offseason, everyone wants to see Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar do their thing. Once again, though, we'll have to wait a little while to get a sure answer on that. As of right now, all three are expected to go according to Jerry Jones, but things can change rapidly in preseason.
On defense, we'll see some shuffling along the linebacker position. With Rolando McClain and Anthony Hitchens out, Damien Wilson and Kyle Wilber will start, but with Wilber at middle linebacker and Wilson on the weak side (the Cowboys will likely hold out Sean Lee). Andrew Gachkar will be on the strong side. Wilber is a guy that has played almost everywhere on defense, and he plays on special teams. He's a very valuable utility player.
Orlando Scandrick is expected to get some reps in the secondary.
So if you were the Cowboys, who would you play and who would you hold out Sunday night? Especially with guys like Romo and the offensive line?
