James Lang-USA TODAY Sports

It's a huge early showdown in the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles hook up at the Linc in a game with many storylines. The major one among much of the press is the fact that DeMarco Murray will be plying his trade for the Eagles instead of his original team, the Cowboys. Murray had a very tough first week in terms of yards, but he did score two short touchdowns. He'll be looking to get on track for the 2015 season and give the Cowboys a taste of what they're missing.

On the other side, Joseph Randle, Lance Dunbar and the rest of the Cowboys running backs will be trying to make Cowboys fans forget all about Murray, and show that the Cowboys offensive line can work its magic for more than just Murray. The Cowboys running game was okay in its 2015 debut but was much more effective as pass receivers. They will be looking to balance that out on Sunday.

The other big storyline about the players is Dez Bryant's absence due to injury. Can the Cowboys keep their offensive machine humming without their star receiver? That's a huge challenge for this week and one that could go far in determining how well the Cowboys stay afloat while waiting for Bryant to return.

The Cowboys come into the game with a win in week one and sole possession of the lead in the NFC East. The Eagles, on the other hand, are desperate to not go 0-2 after losing the opening week to the Falcons. This is the kind of battle that we wait for in the NFL.
