BREAKING NEWS: Tony Romo To Go On Injured Reserve For Eight Weeks

Will be designated to return.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

It is being reported by multiple sources that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will be placed on injured reserve/designated to return while he recovers from his fractured collarbone. He will be unable to practice for six weeks, and cannot play for eight. That would have him first available for the game against the Miami Dolphins on November 22nd.

This will open up a roster spot for whoever the Cowboys decide to sign as a backup for Brandon Weeden. Because the Dallas bye week falls during Romo's recovery, he would miss only seven games if he is back when expected. That would leave seven games for a stretch run for the playoffs.
