Cowboys Lose Defensive Tackle Terrell McClain For The Season

It's officially an epidemic.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Add another name to the list of injured Dallas Cowboys. This time, the player is lost for the season. Backup defensive tackle Terrell McClain has been put on season-ending injured reserve. The oft-injured tackle has a toe injury that will end his year. The Cowboys had built a defensive line that was supposed to be deep so they could rotate fresh bodies in the game. That will be tested as the Cowboys turn to Davon Coleman and Ken Bishop to take on more of the load behind Nick Hayden.

McClain missed time with injuries last season as well as missing time during the offseason and training camp. When he has been able to play he has been a serviceable defensive tackle, but he can't seem to stay on the field. Davon Coleman has definitely shown the ability to make splash plays, the team may choose to use him more as the 1-tech instead of the 3-tech. Ken Bishop is also a possibility.

The Cowboys made another roster move, bringing back Gus Johnson to the practice squad after linebacker Joe Thomas was singed to the Packers active roster.
