Scouting Report: Evaluating The Game Tape Of New RB Christine Michael | Dallas Cowboys
Bryan Broaddus gives us a nice scouting report of the Cowboys new ball carrier.

Michael is not going to make you miss in space, but when he gets a hole he is going to attack it -- downhill with a head of steam. But I would not call him a creator with the ball in his hands. He sees opportunities and goes. There were snaps where he tried to be nifty and wasn’t successful. Michael runs like he is on a track or a rail – which would be the opposite of what you see in Darren McFadden’s running style.

Sabin: What Christine Michael has that other three Cowboys RBs don't; has void DeMarco Murray left been filled? | Dallas Morning News
The Cowboys new running back gives the team a different look.

With 221 pounds packed on a 5-10 frame, he also has the heft to be a bruiser – something Randle, McFadden and Dunbar aren’t. Last season, with Murray, the Cowboys converted 70.4 of third- and fourth-and-1 rush attempts. Michael’s arrival could conceivably give the Cowboys a boost in short-yardage situations, adding a dimension to a ground game that aims to replicate everything Murray could do – pass-blocking, receiving and power running – with a composite of running backs.

Kellen Moore to join Dallas Cowboys practice squad | MLive.com
The move will reunite the quarterback with his former offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, and give the Cowboys two QBs on the practice squad.

Moore signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2012 after a wildly successful college career at Boise State. He served as Detroit's third-string QB for the past three seasons, but was never once active on game day.

The Lions re-signed Moore to a two-year contract this offseason and gave him an opportunity to unseat Dan Orlovsky for right to backup starter Matthew Stafford, but Moore struggled this offseason before closing out the exhibition slate with a strong performance against Buffalo last week.

National predictions: It's close, but analysts say Eagles have better chance to win NFC East than Cowboys | Dallas Morning News
Several writers chimed in on who will take down the NFC East. Here are a few of them.

Michael Silver -- "Cowboys. Last year was not a mirage -- that offensive line plus Scott Linehan's play-calling equals division dominance."

Steve Wyche -- "Cowboys. I want to go with Philly, but Sam Bradford's durability still concerns me. Dallas has more talent on defense than a lot of folks realize."

Marc Sessler -- "Eagles. I won't be surprised when they finish with the NFC's best record."

Bucky Brooks -- "Eagles. Chip Kelly's retooled offense is nearly unstoppable behind the 1-2 punch of Demarco Murray and Ryan Matthews. Sam Bradford avoids the injury bug to lead the Eagles to the crown."
