Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett held his final press conference of the week this morning and revealed that Tony Romo did some scout team work in yesterday’s practice. The Cowboys officially listed Romo as limited in practice, and besides doing some of the individual warm-up drills in the beginning of practice, he also took some of the scout team reps in 7-on-7 drills. After that he mainly worked on his rehab off to the side with the trainers. Garrett said they will just have to see how he feels today and how much he can do in Friday’s practice.

Todd Archer also posted an article that noted Romo had receiver Andy Jones stay and do some extra work this past Tuesday to help Romo get back to practicing.

For roughly 30 minutes, Romo, in shoulder pads, threw passes to Jones, an undrafted free agent.

“He looked real good,” Jones said. “The ball is coming in with some zip, right on the money. I really didn’t see no drop-off, honestly. He looks real good back there, just like he always does.”

Jones ran a series of different routes, from comebacks to out routes. Romo had him convert to different routes based on coverage.

“He was kind of letting the game play through his head,” Jones said.

It won’t be this week, but starting next week we may see Romo start really practicing, and the controversy will hit high gear until the Cowboys brass make a public decision.

Coach Garrett also said the Dez Bryant has been doing individual drills and some team drills this week, and that he has checked out okay the next day each time. He’s hopeful he’ll play Sunday, but if you ask Dez, he’s playing Sunday. Orlando Scandrick is also trying to get back to the field, Garrett said they continue to monitor his progress but he is practicing. Tyron Smith did more on Thursday than he did on Wednesday, they will see how he feels today.

The Cowboys also look like they will catch a beak on Sunday as reports are coming out the Eagles defensive lineman Bennie Logan will miss the game. He’s a very good run-stuffer and the Eagles line will miss him against the Cowboys potent running attack.
