Jerry Jones Says Tyron Smith Is “Fine” After Injury Scare In Lions Game

Breathe a sigh of relief.

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

There was very scary moment for the Dallas Cowboys in their demolition of the Detroit Lions. The Cowboys won the game 42-21 but on a running play in the second half Tyron Smith came up with a knee injury. Fortunately, Jerry Jones says Smith is fine.

Smith was pulling outside on a sweep and a Lions cornerback went low on him, hitting him right on the knee. Smith got up but immediately hobbled to the sideline. Cowboys fans were having meltdowns everywhere. Smith was listed as questionable to return and he stayed on the sidelines. If it had been a serious injury he likely would have gone to the locker room. The Cowboys sound like they dodged a bullet on this one, but the decision of who to play next week is getting harder Jason Garrett will have a tough week as the Cowboys end their season in Philadelphia.

Garrett had this to say after the game about Smith.

The playoffs await, but the Cowboys sure looked good tonight. With nothing on the line, they blew out a playoff contender.
